Join Harvest in the fight to Ban Styrofoam!

When littered or blown from trashcans, polystyrene foam containers find their way into storm drains and then out to the ocean. These one time use "to-go" containers never fully biodegrade, but the foam will break into smaller and smaller pieces that wash onto the shore or float in the Pacific Garbage Patch, where animals mistake toxic foam pellets for food.

We have a chance to ban this toxic waste in the state of California. If we can pass it in Cali hopefully it will spread to other states.

At some point in the next week, the state Senate is expected to vote on a proposal to ban polystyrene takeout containers (or Styrofoam™, as it's commonly known). Tell your state senator to vote to ban polystyrene to-go containers. Ask your senator to support SB 568 (Lowenthal) by signing the petition at this link: BAN STYROFOAM HERE!
